Reusable Bag Donations for Haitian Moms
Four times each year a group of medical personnel and other volunteers travel to Cap Haitian to work a week at the clinic in Tovar which is about an hour over rough roads from Cap Haitian. At the clinic, volunteers see more than 2100 patients in the week. On the January trip, there were 5 pediatricians who together saw more than 500 moms, each with 2 to 6 children! The doctors give each mother vitamins and other needed medications for each of their children. We would like to provide race bags for the moms to carry the many bottles of medications they receive.
Each of you probably has many reusable race bags that you're not using. Will you please bring these to Leah at the Bruce Barnes Mile or Summer Track Meets We'll get these ready for the next trip to Haiti. Learn more about the program. Susan Thomas, who is requesting the race bags, went on the January trip and gathered vital signs, packaged medications and supported the doctors and plans to return next year. |
